Yeah I agree with you. The title and header image is maiy bait, my main point is that there are trade offs to be aware of.

While there are many ways to reduce the verbosity of TS code, such as in the example I gave, sometimes it’s unavoidable.

I wouldn’t go so far to universally say that the TypeScript benefits far outweighs the costs. It completely depends on the project, the team, and the business goals.

TypeScript support is amazing these days, but not perfect. It’s still an additional layer of complexity, and many libraries tends to have the “for typescript users” section that requires a little more tinkering to get things working.

That being said, TS is awesome, and I would use TypeScript for all my professional projects.
