I see what you’re saying. I don’t believe TypeScript, or any of these tools are the “standard” in the sense that you define it in. A company hiring a developer is looking for a specific skillset, and the most commonly sought after skillset will be considered the “standard” just because of industry demand.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with that, nor do I think it means a developer is forced to only use a single “standard” tool.

If you’re hired to work apart of an existing team, you’re going to have to adapt to team standards.

If you’re hired to lead an existing team, or create a new team for a new product, you probably have a lot more say in the tools you want to use for the job.

In general, this concept of standards, really means industry standards, and in plain english means “the tools most commonly used across companies”. I think it has little to do with technology standards from a developer perspective.
