I agree that in the presence of a design system it’s often faster to skip to the high fidelity phase, especially if there is a common understanding of the intended UX (which is most of the time).

Wireframes are great when you’re experimenting and trying to keep stakeholder focus on the UX / flow. Especially when the proposed UX is out of the ordinary
